After a 22 day suspension, the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage has resumed. Here’s what devotees should know, including registration guidelines, safety instructions and more.
Reason for Suspension
The Vaishno Devi Yatra was momentarily halted due to landslides and inclement weather, which posed significant risks to pilgrims. The Shrine Board prioritised safety by suspending the trip to allow for route clearance, infrastructure inspections, and the restoration of critical services.
Yatra Resumption Details
After a 22-day hiatus, the yatra was formally resumed on September 19, 2025, with pilgrims allowed to return to the sacred shrine. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board confirmed that all routes are now safe and functioning, and services have resumed at full capacity.
Registration Guidelines
Before undertaking the yatra, pilgrims must register, either online through the Shrine Board's official website or at designated kiosks in Katra. Valid identification is required, and group bookings are available. To make things easier, helicopter services and electric vehicle reservations can be booked online.
