Counter bookings are also split into two categories. Category A passengers get priority, while Category B passengers need to show their Aadhaar card or another valid photo ID before they can book.
Online Booking: Aadhaar and OTP Still Mandatory
If you want to book via the IRCTC app or website, you won’t be subjected to the token system — but the identity checks are still very much present.

You will have to confirm your booking by entering an OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
