Tech giant TCS laid off 2% of its workforce a few months ago. Now, former employees are talking about the environment of harassment and fear, forced resignations and more.
TCS Layoff Strategy
In an official statement, TCS said that it is making efforts to be ‘a future ready organisation’, with AI, market growth and workforce restructuring as the main priorities. The company targeted mainly middle level and senior level employees during the layoffs.
The Fluidity List
Many employees claimed that there was a ‘fluidity list’, containing a list of employees to be terminated. Allegedly, the company used this list for layoffs. Most employees were added to this list without any prior warning or justification.
Toxic Workplace Atmosphere
According to employee testimonials, TCS has transformed from a culture of collaboration and long-term professional progress to one of dread and instability.
According to reports, HR and Resource Management Group (RMG) staff have been actively pressing for resignations, often bypassing formal termination standards. Employees report being pressured to sign resignation letters, often within days of being benched.
The psychological impact is evident. Many employees, particularly those with more than a decade of service, feel deceived and dumped. The suddenness of the layoffs, combined with vague information, has caused considerable concern.
