On Pakistan’s side of the Wagah-Attari Border, heavy rains have caused a flood-like situation, and videos show garbage floating in the water. These visuals are going viral on social media, with many people reacting and commenting.

Since June 26, relentless rains and flash floods in Pakistan have already caused 802 deaths and left over 1,088 people injured, according to official data from Pakistan’s disaster authority (NDMA).

Pakistan’s Monsoon Havoc


Across Pakistan, significant flooding and devastation have been triggered by heavy monsoon rains.


Rescue agencies are having difficulty keeping up, several homes are under water, and families have been forced to relocate.


Worst-Hit Areas

  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK): The hardest hit — 479 deaths, 347 injured.

  • Punjab: 165 dead, 584 injured.

  • Sindh: 57 dead, 75 injured.

  • Balochistan: 24 dead, 5 injured.

  • Islamabad: 8 dead, 3 injured.


The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that the Ravi River at Jassar has already reached high flood levels.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned that many low-lying areas in Punjab — including Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, and Kasur — could face urban flooding within the next 24 hours.

The Lahore administration has issued a high alert, predicting that the Ravi River’s water level will keep rising for the next 48 hours.
